Glenn Ray Walters

WALTERS, Glenn R., age 88, of Bellbrook, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2019. Glenn was born on August 24, 1930 in Dayton, OH to Ray and Laura (Lutes) Walters.

In 1928, Ray and Laura moved from Lexington, KY to Dayton to start Genuine Auto Parts. Two years later, Glenn was born. Glenn graduated from Oakwood High School in 1948, Denison University in 1952, did his Graduate work 1952-53 at Stanford University, Department of English, and his Master’s Degree from University of Dayton in 1986. Glenn was the Founder and Owner of the film and video production company, Valdhere, Inc. from 1954-1999 where he produced corporate, training, and advertising videos. Glenn hosted his own TV show on Channel 7 in Dayton called “Enterprise” and shot the coaching films for the Cincinnati Bengals. He then transitioned to a position as Executive in Residence and Professor in the Communication Department at the University of Dayton from 1997-2014. Glenn enjoyed tennis, bike riding, and was an avid football fan. He loved his family, reading, writing, and was very passionate about filmmaking.

He was preceded in death by his parents and pets: Honey, Trader, Spencer, Lucy, Callie, Mittens, and Sophie. Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Cynthia L. (Saylor) Walters; children: Steven A. (Ellen) Walters, Lynn M. Walters-Fraze, Susan A. “Toodie” (David) Flanders; grandchildren: Douglas Flanders, Stephanie (Flanders) Shively, Andrew Walters, Devin Fraze, Kathleen Walters, Digby Fraze, Laura Walters; four great grandchildren: Matthew, Noelle, Dylan, and Mallory; brother-in-law, Walter Saylor; pets: Halle and Angie.

Funeral Service will take place at 2pm on Sunday, July 21 at Southbrook Christian Church, 9095 Washington Church Rd, Miamisburg, OH 45342. Visitation will follow the service at the church.
