David Edward Grayson

GRAYSON, David E., age 66 of Oakwood, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009. David graduated from the University of Dayton where he received his B.S. in accounting in 1965 and his MBA in 1967. He worked as a CPA for Touche Ross, and was the controller and later general manager of Systems Research Laboratories. David later moved on to become CFO of Bush Auto and Leasing and then CFO of Unitize (Orbit). David was an active member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, where he served as a lector, Eucharistic minister, and a member of the parish council and finance committee. He was also a member of the American Society of CPA's; National Eagle Scout Assoc. and Order of the Arrow of the BSA; UD Parents Assoc., and Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity. David was an active youth volunteer, serving with the Oakwood Band Parents (Past Pres. & Treas.), as a youth soccer coach, and with Kettering Theater Under the Stars (Past Treas.). Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Angela (Ann nee Gerkin) Grayson and brothers Richard and Michael Grayson. David is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joan Grayson; sons Timothy (Johna) and Gregory Grayson; grandchildren Teaghan, Emily, and Cassidy Grayson; sisters Susan (Joseph) Woodward, Mary (Vaughn) Black, and Patricia (Terry) Bower; and nieces and nephews Jennifer (Jason) Brenner, Amelia, Sara and Emily Woodward, Dawn Thompson, Tiffany Black and Brian (Tara) Black and Brooke, Paige and Garrett Bower. The family will greet friends from 4:00 8:00PM on Wednesday Sept. 9, 2009 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009 at 10:00AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 218 K St. on Brown St., Dayton, OH with Father Dan Meyer officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, OH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 2300 Wall Street, Suite "H" Cincinnati, OH 45212.
