of Kettering, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2001. She was born in St. Brevin les Pins, Loire, Atlantique, France. Paulette grew up in occupied Paris during World War II and moved to Dayton in 1946 to marry her husband Robert F. Hinders. She attended The Sorbonne for one year in Paris, studying entomology. She was a long time member of Church of the Ascension and volunteered in various capacities at Miami Valley Hospital for many years. As a citizen advocate, she met with Ohio legislators and many civic groups to advance the rights for the MR/DD of Ohio. An avid gardener, Paulette's flower gardens won the City of Kettering's Beautification Award. Preceded in death in June, 2000, by her husband, Robert. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Michele and Patrick O'Christie of Beavercreek, Annette and John Thomas of Westbrook, ME; a son, Patrick of Kettering; four grandchildren, Catherine O'Christie, Robert, Eric and Nicholas Thomas; and her beloved French cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, in the Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Dr., Kettering, Father David Brinkmoeller officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the Mass, Monday prior to the committal at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, PO Box 3509, Dayton OH 45401-3509.
