Adam John Tonkin

TONKIN, Adam John, age 20, of Centerville, OH, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015. Adam was born on September 11, 1995 in Kettering, OH. At the age of 14, Adam began pondering the idea of becoming a Marine. This was the milestone that began his patriotic track. After he graduated from Centerville High School in 2014, Adam fulfilled his dream and joined the United States Marine Corp and was last stationed at Camp Hansen, Japan. He was an athlete throughout his school years. He loved to compete. By his senior year, he was voted a team captain. He wrestled at the 195 lb. weight class and was a 2013 State Qualifier. Adam loved to be outdoors, sing Disney tunes, was dubbed "Mr. Katy Perry" for his overly zealous attitude toward her persona and loved people. He was a charismatic young man who had an inner light that could brighten anyone's spirit. Our wish is that those whom he touched would hold on to that beam of light and share it with those around them to light up their corner of the world, wherever that may be. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Ralph J. Kombol, Sr. Adam is survived by his parents, John and Lisa Tonkin; sister Kelly; grandparents, John and Jane Tonkin and Marilyn and David Sherwood; uncle, Ralph (Michele) Kombol, Jr.; aunts, Karen (Mark) Malainy, Ellen (Tim) Moran, Amy Dunning, Jodi (Dave) Mott, Jennifer (Jeff) Ensman, and Jill (Bob) Simpson; and his cousins, Crystal, Jeremy (Victoria), Danielle, Vincent, Ashley (Jared), Laura, Erin (Greg), Emily, Jay, John, Joel, Jack, Anna, and many extended relatives. Family will greet friends from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Tuesday, December 29th, 2015 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, December 30th, 2015 at Centerville Community Church, 10688 Dayton Lebanon Pike Centerville, OH. In lieu of flowers, friends and family can bring toys to donate for The Marine Corps "Toys for Tots" program during the visitation.
