HALEY, Adele Marie was born in Dayton on August 29, 1925, to the late Cecilia (Rattermann) Haley and Michael Robert Haley.
Adele graduated from Julienne High School in 1943 then continued on to Saint Mary's of the Springs College where she graduated in 1947. She was a devoted teacher at Van Cleve Elementary School in Dayton View for many years.
After retirement from teaching, she spent time as a loving caregiver for her mother and a dear family friend, Lucille Witman. Adele's love and loyalty for family and friends was never ending. Adele was also the family historian and active in genealogy. Her other passion was the game of golf. She spent many happy years enjoying the game at Miami Valley Golf Club.
Adele passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at St. Leonard in Centerville.
"Aunt Adele" will be missed by countless nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews and great-grand-nieces and nephews across the country, as well as many friends and neighbors, including her longtime community at Corpus Christi Church. She was preceded in death by her brothers Michael R. (Bob), Richard L. and Louis M. Haley.
A funeral service will be held at 9:00 AM on September 23, 2013 at Calvary Cemetery Chapel, 1625 Calvary Avenue, Dayton. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Dayton or the St. Leonard Foundation for their tireless and loving care of Adele.
