STOYCOS, Aglaea Grammen age 79 Wilmington NC and formerly a longtime resident of Kettering, OH passed away Thursday, November 29, 2007 in North Carolina. She was born November 16, 1928 in Wheeling, WV. Aglaea attended WVU and receiver her Bachelor of Science in 1950, her Masters of Science in 1951 from Cornell University and taught at Purdue University and Ohio State from 1951-1955. She was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church on Wilmington, NC. Aglaea was actively involved. She served on the board of the Dayton Art Institute, The Friends of the Dayton Ballet Company, Children’s Hospital, and The Annunciation Philoptochos. Aglaea was a longtime member of Cox Arboretum, the Dayton Philharmonic, Women’s Club and the Friday Afternoon Club. She loved gourmet cooking, and helping others, however her greatest love was for her family. Aglaea was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Stoycos in 1999. She is survived by her 3 children, Stephen Stoycos, Michael Stoycos, and Maria Stoycos Thompson; 7 grandchildren and 2 brothers, Steve and Tom Grammen. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 7, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 500 Belmonte Park North, with Father Mark Emroll officiating. Burial in Woodland Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8:00 PM with Trisagion Prayers at 6:30 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering.
