Albert Dale Neibert

NEIBERT, Albert "Dale," age 85, of Centerville, formerly of Kettering for 50 years, passed away, Monday January 5, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton. He was a member of Far Hills Community Church and previously served as President of David's Church. Dale was a graduate of Waldron High School, Waldron Indiana, studied chemistry at Wabash University, in Crawfordsville, IN, received his BS from Purdue University and his MBA from Indiana University. After graduating college, Dale married Lorene. Dale was a veteran of the United States Army 100th Infantry Division in Europe during WWII. During the war, Dale studied to become a combat engineering officer. After six months Dale was sent to join the 100th infantry mortar section in France where he earned a Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, helped capture Bache Fortress, fought at Heilbronon on the Neckar River and was in Operation Northwind during the Battle of the Bulge where he received the Purple Heart. Dale was employed by General Motors for 31 years as a civil engineer, building all the Delco Product plants, except the original on Forrer and Woodman. His highlight achievement was the construction of the Delco plant in Puerto Real, Spain. Dale received the Kettering Volunteer of the Year Award, dabbled in the stock market, enjoyed NASCAR, football and gardening and collected Heisey Glassware. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Nellie Neibert and brother Victor C.; He is survived by his loving wife of 59 &1/2 years, Lorene M. Neibert (Heuer); son, Phil of Dayton; daughter, Janice Bressler of CA; and sister, Eleanor Buchhorn of IN. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 9, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Strop Rd., Kettering with Rev. Rebecca Erg Strange officiating. Entombment in David's Mausoleum. Family will receive friends Thursday from 4-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
