Albert Theodore Meleski

MELESKI, Albert T., age 95 of Kettering, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2010. Born March 27, 1915 to Rose Drzymala and W. Meleski, Albert graduated from Chaminade High School and proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII where he was stationed in France. On November 4, 1939 Albert married Doris Henton, his wife of 65 years until her passing in 2004. He retired from the General Accounting Office in Washington DC where he worked as an Auditor. Albert was fascinated by aviation and got his private pilot license when he was a young man. He was a devoted family man who loved figuring out how everything worked, from small appliances to geothermal heat. Albert was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. Preceded in death by his wife, Doris; sister, Angela Peterson and brother, Bernard Meleski. Albert is survived by his daughter, Christine Runnels (Bill Whitaker) of Lititz, PA; sister, Catherine Tumbusch (Jim); sister-in-law, Lauretta Meleski and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 12 Noon at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church. Burial in Dayton National Cemetery.
