FALKNOR, Alberta Lee, age 94, joined her husband peacefully at her residence of 50 years in Washington Township on Friday, September 13, 2024. She was born August 28, 1930 in Little Buffalo, West Virginia; the daughter of the late Charles Moreland and Claudia V. (Wolfe) Smith. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, William L. Falknor and sisters, Helen B. Jenkins, Elizabeth Ann Stevenson, and Dr. Emma Jane Yoho. Alberta is survived by her son, Steven Falknor. Alberta graduated from West Virginia University in 1955 with a Master’s Degree in social work. She was a proud member for 63 years of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and had an extended career in Dayton at the Family Service Association. Alberta loved nature and the outdoors along with a fondness for gardening. Her love of the outdoors began with her rural farm upbringing in West Virginia. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 20, 2024 at 11:00AM at Woodland Cemetery, 118 Woodland Ave., Dayton, OH 45409. A special thank you to Hospice of Dayton for providing the utmost care for Alberta during her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the Centerville-Washington Park District in memory of Alberta.
