GAEKE (HECHT), Alberta "Bertie", passed away on June 17, 2017, at age 94.
She was preceded in death by her much beloved husband, Carl W.; son, Bill and son-in-law David Frech; her parents, Edward and Clara Amann Hecht; and her brothers, Robert and Alvin.
She is survived by 5 children: Sr. Carol Gaeke O.P., Joanne (Larry) Bilderback, Joyce (Paul) Kordik, Susan Frech, John (Deborah) Gaeke and daughter-in-law Carol A. Gaeke. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Steve (Joanna) and Jeff (Amy) Bilderback, Daniel and David Frost and Elizabeth and Emily Kordik; numerous great grandchildren; her brother, Richard (Betty) Hecht; sister Mary Lou Worland and sisters-in-law Betty Hecht and Janice Hecht; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alberta graduated from St. Mary's Grade School and Stivers High School and, after marriage, spent her life as a homemaker. The family is very grateful to the loving staff of St. Leonard's for their abundant care for Bertie in her later years.
The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at St. Albert the Great Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave, Kettering. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Grandview Foundation, Robert F. Hecht Memorial Fund, 405 W. Grand Ave., Dayton, OH 45405.
