Alberta K. Bartholomew

age 93, formerly of Oakwood, passed away, Thursday, November 7, 2002. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1927. Alberta attended Western College for Women, graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1932 receiving her B.S. degree. She taught at Trotwood and Roosevelt High School. Alberta was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, Dayton Woman's Club, Westminster Church, Dayton Country Club, Oakwood Republican Club, College Club, Montgomery County Medical Auxiliary and Century Travel Club. She enjoyed golf, tennis and swimming as a youngster and young adult. Alberta later enjoyed traveling and shopping. She traveled to over 100 countries, Bali was her favorite place. Preceded in death by her husband, R.K. Bartholomew, M.D. Survived by daughter, Rebecca and her husband, L. Wendell Kraus of Washington Twp.; son, Kenneth K. Bartholomew, M.D. of Bowling Green, KY; 1 grandchild, Christopher Bartholomew of Sylmar, CA. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM, Sunday, November 10, at Routsong Funeral Home, 6 Oakwood Ave., Oakwood with Rev. Dr. George H. McConnel officiating. Entombment will be Monday, 10:00 AM at Dayton Memorial Park Mausoleum. Family will greet friends from 2-4:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
