Aldene Foxworth Saslow-Nash

SASLOW NASH, Aldene (nee Foxworth), age 87, of Kettering, previously of Oakwood, passed away on May 28, 2015. Aldene was born to the late Charles Edward and Vida Irene (nee Flood) Foxworth in Waukegan, IL on May 22, 1928. She graduated from Waukegan Township H.S. in 1946 and attended the Chicago Art Institute in 1950. Known for her hats and sense of style, Aldene was an intensively creative, artistic and kind soul who was benevolent, selfless and always willing to lend a hand to others. She enjoyed her membership in the Oakwood Rotary Club, the Dayton Opera Guild, the New Neighbors League Garden Club and St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Aldene was a devoted wife and mother with a penchant for seeking spiritual growth and knowledge and had great fun working up her friend's numerology and astrology charts. She possessed an incredible talent for cooking and Aldene delighted in entertaining her friends and family hosting many memorable parties, which took place in her idyllic garden that flourished with her amazing horticultural skills. Aldene is preceded in death by husband, Edward Henderson Saslow and grandson, Jeremy Clarke Buckner. She is survived by her husband R. Dale Nash; daughter, Nan (Alan) Saslow Buckner; grandson, Aaron; step-son, Douglas Edward Saslow; step-daughter, Gail Ann Saslow, Pam (Paul) Nash Anglin and Debbie (Chuck) Nash Zapiec. Family will greet friends and loved ones on Monday, June 1 from 4pm 6pm at Routsong Funeral Home (2100 E Stroop Rd. Kettering). A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church (33 West Dixon Ave, Dayton). Aldene will be laid to rest at David's Cemetery Mausoleum. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Hospice of Dayton and the staff at the Carlysle House for all the kind and loving care they gave to Aldene.
