SCHREIBER, Aleen of One Lincoln Park in Kettering, passed away March 19, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, on January 22, 2009 and her parents, Frederick and Amelia Kopp of Louisville, KY.
Aleen is survived by nieces, Sandra Purdy of Red Bluff, CA, Terry Pflug of Louisville, KY, Jean (Roger) Thompson of Kissimmee, FL, and Marge (Bruce) Thompson of Melbourne, FL; cousins, Colleen Appling of Louisville, KY, Nancy Hale of Louisville, KY, and Ann Wethington of Shepherdsville, KY.
Aleen graduated from Louisville Girls' High School, Nazareth College in Louisville with a BA in Latin and Spanish, and from the University of Michigan with a MA in Latin and Greek. Aleen taught at Julianne High School, University of Dayton and Centerville High School. In retirement she aided foreign students (Cuba, Korea, Taiwan, Russia) with their English and their adjustment to life in the US.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 12 noon at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hill Grove Cemetery, Miamisburg, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, NPF Inc., 1501 NW 9th Ave., Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494 or the charity of your choice.
