Alfred B. Fehlmann

age 82 of Herndon, VA formerly of Dayton, Oakwood, OH, died Sunday, September 7, 2003 at Reston Hospital. Mr. Fehlmann served in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired after 36 years as Professor at the University of Dayton in 1984. He also taught school for Bradford and Pleasant Hill in Ohio. He is a member of the Herndon United Methodist Church and was a former member of the South Park United Methodist Church, Dayton, OH. He later moved with his wife to live in Herndon with his daughter and son-in-law. He was well known throughout the neighborhood as an avid walker. Preceded in death by one granddaughter, Cinnamin. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Hazel E. Fehlmann of Herndon, VA; daughter, Alice K. Hoffman (Larry) of Herndon, VA; granddaughters, Cierra, Cibrina and Civanna; 1 sister, Louise Robinson; and 1 niece, Mary Louis Marshall both of Wilmington, OH; and nephew, David Lee of Phoenix, AZ. Local services were held Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at Adams-Green Funeral Home, Herndon, VA. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM on Friday September 12, and from 9-10:00 AM on Saturday, September 13 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home with interment in Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville, OH. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Herndon UMC Building Fund or the South Park UMC, 140 Stonemill Rd., Dayton, OH 45409, c/o candy making.
