GENTRY, Alfred James, age 88, of Centerville, passed away January 4, 2011 at Hospice of Dayton.
Al is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Dorothy V. Gentry; his daughter Rebecca Johnson; son James Gentry; step sons Fred Mayne, Larry Mayne, Steve his wife Marianne Mayne; step daughter and her husband Gail and Virgil Hall; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great-grand children; brothers Bob and Don Gentry; sister Ethel DeSerra; and a host of other family members and good friends.
Al served in the Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He retired from NCR after 30 years. Al was a Mason for over 35 years, a Shriner, and a member of The Eastern Star. He was a hard working family man, brother, husband, uncle, father, step-dad, grandpa, papaw, and pap. He brought joy into the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 7, 2011 from 5:00-7:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville with Masonic services at 7PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 8 at 10:00AM also at Routsong Funeral Home. Interment will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
