Alice Elizabeth Mawdsley

MAWDSLEY, Alice Elizabeth, age 86, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017. Alice was born on May 6, 1937 to Marty and Orba Bennett in Clarksville, OH. She worked as a secretary at W.P.A.F.B. until she met her husband, Robert L. Mawdsley. Alice worked for SICSA for over 30 years and volunteered countless hours at The Tenth Life. She was a member of Eastern Star and Christ United Methodist Church. Alice contributed to most every animal shelter in the area and refused to let any stray she saw go hungry. She also donated regularly to wildlife preservation organizations. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 33 years, Robert L. Mawdsley; brothers, Wallace, Roger & Sammy Bennett. She is survived by sister-in-law, Barbara Bennett; nieces, Wendi (James) Duncanson, Ericka (Chris) Puckett, Marty Bennett, Teresa Napier, Traya Bennett; nephews, Tom (Donna) Bennett, Chris, Todd, and Bradley Bennett; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. A special thank you to Wendi Duncanson for her genuine compassion and loving care she gave to Alice at the end of her life. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering. Friends may call one hour prior to service.
