Allen R Vincent

VINCENT, Allen R., 42, of Kettering passed away at his home after an extended illness. Allen was a graduate of Wayne High School and was a member of the Kettering Assembly of God Church. He was a Veteran of the US Navy and worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. Allen was a talented musician and singer and was the lead vocalist for the bands, Betrayed and Copy Cat. He served as Youth Pastor for the Harvest Fellowship Church. Allen loved baseball, especially the Cincinnati Reds, Laurel and Hardy, the Three Stooges, romantic comedies and James Bond flicks. One of his most beloved pastimes was watching classic movies with his wife, Patty; he especially loved, "My Favorite Wife," starring Cary Grant and Irene Dunne. Allen was preceded in death by Grandpa and Grandma Vincent and Grandpa John Love. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 13 years, Patty Vincent; children, Josh, Brittany, Jonathan and Brian; parents, Eddie Vincent and Barb Potter; sister, Renaye (Pat) Connaughton; brother, Shawn Vincent; grandma Delores Love and many other special family members and friends. Allen wants people to remember the life he led as a devoted Christian. He wanted to be a light and witness for God and to everyone he touched or came in contact with. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Kettering Assembly of God Church, 2250 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Pastor Bruce Craig officiating. Burial will follow in David's Cemetery. Allen's family will receive friends on Monday evening from 4-7:00PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH 45429. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Patty Vincent, 514 Storms Rd., Kettering, OH 45429 to create a college scholarship fund for Josh and Brittany.
