The world lost a wonderful person on Monday, June 29, 2020 when Almeda Louise (Kessler) Lundy of Kettering passed away. Almeda was born on March 12, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio to Carl and Margaret Kessler (both deceased) along with two sisters, Carolyn Kessler (deceased) and Becky Kessler Sams. She was a graduate of Stivers High School in 1958. Almeda started as a waitress at Carillon Cafeteria, and then later in life she worked hard to earn and graduate with a 4.0 GPA earning a medical assistance certificate from RETS Technical Institute. It was then that she worked for Dr. Barnett.
In 1972 Almeda met and fell in love with Eugene Lundy who became her husband and soulmate for the next 48 years. After Almeda and Gene joined together, they raised their five wonderful sons, David Keith Meeks (Leigh Ann Meeks), Bobby Lundy (Pamela Lundy), Michael Lundy, Kenneth Meeks, and Paul Lundy (Patti Lundy). Together they were also blessed with 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren that they were very proud to have.
Almeda attended Patterson Park Church and St. Albert the Great church. She loved church, studying God’s word, and praying to him. She also enjoyed her rottweiler, Ben, and her cats, Cookie and Suzie. Almeda enjoyed candle making and knitting. If you knew Almeda, you knew that she loved her coffee and loved her family with all of her heart. She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, people may make donations to St. Vincent de Paul for the homeless.
Services will be held on July 7 at St. Albert the Great in Kettering with visitation at 9:00am and funeral at 10:00am. Burial will take place at Miami Valley Memorial Cemetery.
