Alpha Sierschula

SIERSCHULA, Alpha, age 83 of Kettering, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2011. Alpha was born in McKee, Kentucky, one of twelve children of John and Cora Rowland. She moved to Dayton to be with one of her sisters and went to work for NCR where she met her husband Ben. Following their marriage Alpha became a devoted homemaker and mother. She was always in the kitchen cooking up delicious meals for her family and making her special chocolate chip cookies. Alpha was an avid news watcher and loved to engage her children in political discussions. Alpha is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bernard “Ben” Sierschula; children, Michael Sierschula of Cincinnati, Janet Scaglione of Centerville, Mary Roach of Chicago and Donna Thiede of Kettering; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; three brothers; two sisters and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at 2:00PM at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering, OH with Rev. Dave Tackett officiating.
