Anita Jane Brock

BROCK, Anita Jane (Langley), 89, of Kettering, formerly of Harriman TN, passed away on January 20, 2021. She was born on August 15, 1931, in Harriman, to Leonard and Georgie (Davis) Langley. She worked for the Wartburg Phone Company and then Schubert Funeral Home prior to marrying William Garland Brock of Wartburg TN in 1951. The couple moved to Ft. Benning GA during William’s service in the Army from 1953-1955. Following the conclusion of her husband’s service, the pair moved to the Dayton, OH area where daughter Carol Ann was born in 1961. Anita worked as a mortgage officer at a local mortgage company and worked her way up to the position of Vice President. As a devout Baptist, she loved going to church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. In her spare time she was an avid reader and wonderful cook. She was a caring and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who always enjoyed time spent with her family. Anita is preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, William Garland Brock. She is also preceded in death by sisters Evelyn (Langley) Bonafacious, Bobbie (Langley) Mathis, Mary (Langley) Leopper and Brenda (Langley) Davidson, as well as her brother Donald Langley.

Anita is survived by Daughter Carol (Michael) Owens; Granddaughters Laura (Achille Scache) Owens and Emilee (Christopher) Ambrose; Great Grandson William Garland Scache; Sister Peggy (Langley) Summers; Several nieces and nephews, and many loving friends.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Rd, Kettering 45429. A Funeral Service at 12 noon and Private Family Burial at David’s Cemetery will follow. Masks and social distancing protocols will be strictly adhered to.
