MYERS, Ann Nolan, age 90, of Beavercreek, OH, formerly of Arlington and McLean, VA, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 at her home. She was born on April 5, 1923, in Pawtucket, RI to the late Francis and Mary Veronica (Borah) Nolan and grew up in Warren, a place she always held dear to her heart.
Ann was a loving, gracious wife and mother with friends throughout the world. At the age of 23-years, while working at Quonset Point Naval Air Station, she met her husband and spent the next 30 years as a US Navy wife enjoying traveling and forming lasting friendships. She also loved reading, sewing, and knitting, being a homemaker, as well as working several years later in life as an administrative assistant at Potomac School in McLean, VA.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Emerson William Myers; son, Emerson William Myers, Jr.; brothers, John, William, and James Nolan; and nephew, John Nolan. Ann is survived by her daughter, Margaret, and son-in-law, William Stephen Shufflebarger; grandchildren, Mary (Kate) and Stephen Shufflebarger; and nieces, Katherine (Kate) MacDougall, Jane Shanley, Margaret (Peggy) St. John, Mary Jackson, Ruth (Poo) Carroll, Marilyn Nolan, and Nancy Nolan.
Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery where Ann will be buried with her husband. The family thanks the staff members at Hospice of the Miami Valley for their care and guidance, and the assistance of her caregivers.
