Anna Mae Barnhouse

BARNHOUSE, Anna Mae, age 77, of Kettering, OH passed away Saturday, November, 24, 2012 at her home. Anna was a 1953 Julienne High School graduate and worked at Atlas Tool Design and NCR before devoting her life to raising her family. She attended St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Anna loved her family, knitting, sewing, needle work, gardening and baking. She was well known as the "Cookie Lady." Preceded in death by her parents, Theresa "Gilardi" and Michael W. Mantia; sister, Mary (Nevin) Cox and brother, Lawrence (Ruth) Mantia. Anna is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Kenneth Barnhouse; children, Susan (Greg) Gaston, Steven Barnhouse, Sandra (Steve) VanEtten, and Scott (Brandi) Barnhouse; grandchildren, Matthew and Christopher Gaston, Alexis and Zachary VanEtten, Aaron, Kenneth and Gregory Barnhouse, Jessica Hoskins, Mandi Smith, and Carolyn Lakes. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday November 28, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00am, also at the funeral home. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Hospice, 3033 Kettering Blvd., Moraine, OH, 45439. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff of Grace Hospice for their care of Anna Mae.
