Annabelle Johansen, lovingly known as Belle, peacefully passed away on November 29th, 2023 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother with a heart full of compassion and a spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Born on August 30th, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York, Belle was the daughter of Ignazio and Antonina Mosca. She attended Richmond Hill High School in Queens before pursuing her passion for business administration at New York University, where she earned an Associates degree. It was during her time at NYU that she met the love of her life, Robert Johansen, and they embarked on a lifelong journey together.
Belle and Robert exchanged vows soon after their graduation and settled in Kings Park, Long Island. They were blessed with three wonderful sons, Robert, Eric, and Mark. The family had the opportunity to live in various places and countries, including the Dominican Republic, Iran, and Greece. However, Belle's unwavering devotion to her sons led them to eventually return to the United States, where she lovingly cared for them while they pursued their college education.
Belle's career in the travel industry flourished as she joined World Travel and worked her way up to become a successful travel agent. In 1990, her dedication and hard work paid off when Robert purchased the company, and they managed it together. They sold the company in 1997, fulfilling their dream of retiring to a tranquil beach in Florida.
Her love for travel was not restricted to her professional life. Belle had an insatiable wanderlust and enjoyed exploring new places with her beloved husband. They shared a passion for hosting parties and entertaining friends, creating cherished memories for all who were fortunate enough to be invited.
Faith played a significant role in Belle's life, and she was a devoted Catholic. She found solace and strength in her spiritual beliefs, nurturing her relationship with God and finding comfort in the church community.
Belle's timeless love and vibrant presence will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ignazio and Antonina Mosca, her dear brother Michael Mosca, and her beloved husband, Robert S. Johansen. She leaves behind a lasting legacy in her sons, Robert and his wife Omaira, Eric and his wife Marie, and Mark and his wife Gail. She also leaves behind her adoring grandchildren, Michael, Robert, and Alex, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.
