Anne Elizabeth Rakar

RAKAR Anne E (LaPorte) age 85 of Kettering, Ohio met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 21, 2014. Born December 22, 1928 to Arthur and Hazel LaPorte in Hoosick Falls, New York, Anne is survived by her husband and soul mate of 66 years, Raymond M. Rakar, daughter Martha Hoke of Maineville, John Rakar (Sandy) of Huber Heights and Kathleen Simpson (Ken) of Springboro. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Weathers. Anne adored her six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, Christine Gajda (Jacek) and their sons, Krzysiek and Marcin of Rockville, Illinois, Jocelyn Monis (Rich) and their children Kayla and Alex of Naperville, Illinois. Rachel Hoke and her daughter Zoe of Los Angeles, California, Emily Berger (Jeremy) and their sons Joel and Nathan of Cincinnati, Ohio, Erika Chapman and her daughter Isabelle of Huber Heights, and Phillip Rakar (Erika) and their children Kiyrra and Dashel. As a young woman, Anne was employed as an accountant at General Electric in Pittsfield, Massachusetts before marrying Ray and becoming a gifted homemaker. The full focus of her life was the care of her husband and children, with her greatest passion being her personal relationship with Jesus Christ and exemplifying Him in her life and in pointing others to seek Him. An avid sports fan and exceptional ball player herself, she preferred ESPN over other programs and refused to turn off the TV during a Boston Celtics game even if it meant staying up past midnight at age 85. On behalf of Anne, her family would like to thank all of those who touched her life and the lives of her family and how blessed they have been to have had her as a loving wife, mother and grandmother that walked with God. In lieu of flowers, please provide donations to your local church or chosen Christian organization to further God's work to fulfill His Kingdom purposes until the whole world hears and knows our soon and coming King, Jesus Christ. Hey Mom, save a place for us, we'll be there soon! Services will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014. Friends will be received from 10:00-11:00am, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00am at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, 1639 East Lytle Five Points Road, Centerville, Ohio, 45458. Private family burial to follow.
