Anne Jensen Karns

age 91, of Bethany Lutheran Village, Centerville, died February 9, 2002. Anne was born on March 13, 1910 to Knud and Hulda Jensen of Cleveland, Ohio. She was married in 1934 to Virgil, and they moved to Dayton in the 1940's. They moved to Michigan in the 1950's and Anne continued to live in Grand Rapids after Virgil died in 1970. She returned to Dayton in 1978 to be near family and long-time friends Charles and Lois Hines. In addition to Virgil, she was preceded in death by her twin sister Caroline York, and two brothers, Richard and William. Survivors include son David and wife Cathy Learnard, grandson Paul and wife Michelle, brother Albert and wife Carol, sister Marion, former daughter-in-law Margaret, and many nieces and nephews. Anne was a long-time member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, on Thruston Ave. in Oakwood, and was an active member of her circle. A memorial service will be held March 22, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at Lutheran Church of Our Savior. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Anne's memory to Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 155 E. Thruston Blvd., Oakwood, OH 45419, to the Lutheran Social Services Benevolent Fund, 6430 Inner Mission Dr., Centerville, OH 45459 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
