B. David Vickroy

VICKROY, B. David, age 73 of Kettering, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. David was born on June 10, 1940 in Dayton, OH. He graduated from Chaminade High School in 1959 and received his Bachelors in Industrial Management from the Miami University School of Business in 1963. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta. David was owner and President of Hartzell Manufacturing for 36yrs before selling the company in 2011. He was a member of Church of the Incarnation, past Master of George Marshall Lodge, a member of AASR, Shrine Club and Agonis Club of Dayton. David also served as V.P. of the Board of Directors of Dayton Country Club, Director of the Western Golf Association and the Evans Scholars Foundation. An avid golfer, David played weekly at DCC and was a regular at the Men's Grill. He was a Miami Univ. Red & White club member and faithfully followed all Miami Univ. sports. David loved his grandchildren, who called him "Pops", and spoiled them every chance he got. He loved his family and friends deeply and greatly enjoyed his many golf trips. He and his wife Jeanie loved to travel and shared incredible vacations in Europe, Alaska, Germany and the Baltic. Preceded in death by his parents. David is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jeanie; daughters Nicci (Matthew) Hickey of Switzerland and JJ (Gary) Schnettler of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Emily, Lauren, Peter and Lela; brothers, Mike (Jackie) Vickroy of Centerville and Eugene (Jean E.) Monnier of Hawaii; many beloved nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Roddy) Sloss of California; and brother-in-law, Jeff Grimm of Bellbrook. Family will greet friends on Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 2:00-5:00pm at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Dec. 2, at 10:30am at Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave, Centerville. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts in David's memory may be made to Evans Scholars Foundation, One Briar Road, Golf, IL 60029.
