Barbara Ann August

AUGUST, Barbara Ann, age 63 of Dayton, passed away, Tuesday, December 31, 2002, at Walnut Creek Nursing Home. Barbara graduated from Mt. Mercy (Carlow) College in Pittsburgh; received her masters degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Special Education and taught special education in Pittsburgh. She also worked in the financial office at the University of Dayton. Barbara volunteered at St. Elizabeth Breast Cancer Center, was a literacy volunteer, and a docent at the Dayton Art Institute. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Danko. Survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Eugene August; 2 sons, Robert and his wife, Doane, of Greenville, SC, and James August of Centerville, OH; 3 grandchildren, Diana, Robert and John August; sisters, Sandra Danko of Elizabeth, PA, and Marsha Marcell and her husband Raymond of Brewster, MA. Family will greet friends on Thursday evening from 5-7:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 6 Oakwood Ave. at Irving. Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Friday, January 3, 2003 at 10:00 AM at the University of Dayton Chapel. Burial in Woodland Cemetery.
