(Shoemaker) age 82 of Oakwood passed away Thursday, January 3, 2002. Barbara was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, active with the Altar Guild, The Dayton Country Club, The Garden Club of Dayton, Pi Beta Phi Sorority and an honorary member of The Junior League of Dayton, Inc. She was a member of the ''World's Greatest Bridge Club''. She attended Randolph Macon Women's College and graduated from Ohio State University. She was preceded in death July 28, 2001 by her husband of 59 years, R. Alan Fanning M.D., and her parents, Richard S. and Alberta Shoemaker. She is survived by her daughters, Judy Turner and her husband, John, Janet Dues and her husband, John of McLean, VA; grandchildren, Jeff and Teri Turner, Carrie and Shawn Dan, Elizabeth, John Jr., and Christopher Dues; great grandchildren, Brendon and Lauren Turner; sister-in-law, Susie Shoemaker; nieces, Elizabeth Shoemaker and Charlotte Keaton; and caregivers, Pat, Julie and Cindy. Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 7, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 33 W. Dixon Ave., Oakwood with Reverend Melody Williams officiating. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4:00 P.M. at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Private burial will be in Twin Valley Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Miami Valley Chapter, The Laurelwood, 3797 Summit Glen Dr., Suite G 100, Dayton, OH 45449 or St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Book of Remembrance.
