VANNORSDALL, Barbara Leah, age 93, of Dayton, OH, passed on Sunday, May 26, 2024. Barbara was born on October 2, 1930, to the late Ray and Erma (Tamplin) Danzeisen, in Dayton. She graduated from Fairmont High School and started her career at Ohio Bell telephone company.
Barb married the love of her life, Jim Vannorsdall, from Jeffersonville, Ohio on June 2, 1950, and they were married for 72 years. They started their family in Dayton, Ohio before moving to a farm in Jeffersonville in March of 1961, where they spent most of their lives together.
Barbara had a beautiful singing voice and played piano and organ at the Jeffersonville United Methodist Church. She was a Bible School teacher, Sunday School teacher, and was a leader of the Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF).
She enjoyed many hobbies including cross stitching, scrapbooking, card making, and puzzle books. She also enjoyed playing basketball and riding her moped or bicycle along with Jim on numerous trips with their friends and family. Barb and Jim could often be found cheering for their favorite teams, including the Reds, Ohio State, and UD.
More than anything Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, who will forever cherish her memory.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents; twin sisters; brother-in-law, Wayne (LaVaun) Vannorsdall; son-in-law, Larry Stegall; and daughter-in-law, Jowanna Vannorsdall.
Barbara is survived by her children; Lorie Stegall, Joel (Patricia) Vannorsdall, and Casey (Timothy Goff) Vannorsdall; grandchildren, Joshua (Carrie) Stegall, Shannon Stegall (Raphael Seeman), Jennifer (Shawn) Coil, John Vannorsdall, and Andrew Vannorsdall; great-grandchildren, Emma and Channing Seeman, Samuel Stegall, Landon and Hailey Coil; great-great grandson, Grayson Groves; niece, Nita Bauer; and other extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery (13260 State Rte. 41, Jeffersonville, OH) on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 1:00 PM. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Hospice of Ohio and Hearth and Home of Urbana for all the excellent care they provided her. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Ohio.
