Beckye J Bates

BATES, Beckye J., age 85, of Kettering passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012 after an extended illness. She was born on November 6, 1926, in Louisville, Kentucky and was a resident of Kettering since 1967. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Herbert and her loving family: son, Howard Bates and wife Jerilyn of Carmel, Indiana; daughter , Nancy Beecroft and husband Steven of Centerville; and son, Stephan Bates and wife Shelley of Kettering; grandchildren Nicholas Kopp, Stephani Knisley, Mandi Moning, Justin Bates, Kristin Bates, Lorin Bates; great-grandchildren Andrew and Michelle Kopp; twin sister Bettye and brother-in-law Harold Shehan of Winston Salem, North Carolina, and their extended family; elder sister Roberta Arnold of Louisville, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a former member of the Dayton Women's Club and a past President of the Kettering foreign Student Exchange program and also a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Her later years were occupied by playing bridge in various bridge clubs in Kettering and Centerville. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. The family will greet friends from 10:00-12:00pm on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 East Stroop Road in Kettering. Private family interment.
