age 79, of Kettering passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2003. Benedict served in the United States Army during WWII . He was the builder, developer and owner of the Ben Wenzler Construction Company, and the Wenzler Day Care Center, as well as builder and developer of the Presidential Banquet Center in Kettering. Ben was an avid lover of thoroughbred horse racing. Preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Wenzler and brothers, Joe and Anthony Wenzler. Survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Shirley A. Wenzler (Mesarvey); 3 daughters, Benita and Brenda Wenzler, both of Kettering and Jill (Frank) Bard of North Lewisburg; son, Jack W. Strader of Mumfordville, KY; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer (Phil) Drennen, Stephanie and Ashley Wenzler, and Kristi Hewitt; 6 great grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Jarred, Jay and Phillip and Mallory Drennen; brother and sister-in-law, Max (Pauline) Wenzler of Dayton; sister-in-law, Rose Wenzler of Oakwood; partner and buddy Don Strenk; numerous nieces and nephews and director of Wenzler Day Care, Claire Walter. Funeral services will be held, Friday, August 22, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Kettering Assembly of God, 2250 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Pastor Doug Cooper officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Family will greet friends Thursday from 4-8:00 PM, at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering.
