Bernice Louise Klenk

KLENK, Bernice Louise, age 90, of Kettering passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013. Born on January 7, 1923 in Shelby County, Ohio to Ralph Ward and Mary Alice Knoop. Bernice attended the University of Cincinnati where she was a member of the Mortar Board Society. Later she went on to earn her Masters of Education from Wright State University. She worked as a middle school teacher for Kettering City Schools for 15 years and was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church. Bernice liked to attend Bible Study at her church and volunteer for Kettering South Suburban Senior Citizens. Preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, William G. Klenk, grandson, Michael William Klenk, seven brothers and sisters including her twin. She is survived by her children, William Edward (Rebecca) Klenk, Linda Sue Peterson, James Alan (Marcia) Klenk, Nancy Louise (Gregory) Waina, Ronald Wesley (Susan) Klenk; grandchildren, Alison Sue (Shan Cheng) Klenk, Ellen Sue (Joe) Hawkins, Christina Ann (Jeff) Porucznik, Emily Ann (Jason) Newman, Patrick Ryan (Holly) Klenk, Julianne Michelle Klenk, Lauren Elizabeth Klenk, Jennifer Michelle (Doug) Dahnke, Jason Gregory (Elizabeth) Waina, Melissa Lynn (Joseph) Bogner, Rebecca Kathleen (Gabe) Medinger, Erin Ingersoll (Jared) Molden, Robert Wesley Klenk; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Merrill (Wilma) Knoop; and four sisters-in-law, Juanita Knoop, Doris Knoop, Helen Waldman, and Ruth Kress. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 14 at Christ United Methodist Church, 3440 Shroyer Rd., Kettering with Rev. Alan Carroll officiating.
