Berniece Purvis

PURVIS, Berniece, "Bernie," 93, of Dayton, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, March 13, 2008. Bernie was a long-time member of Kettering Assembly of God and had been a devoted servant in their East End Children's Ministry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her brother, Raymond Coyle and her sisters; Helen Bloom, Mildred Phelps and Jane Carter. She will be greatly missed by her children; Gwenda (Tom) Powell, David (Barbara) Purvis and Sondra (Bob) Sano; grandchildren, Dawn (Jerry) Thomas, Stephanie (Mike) Malesko, Tony (Cindy) Redolfi, Brad (Kim) Purvis, Stacy (Michael) Propst and Bob Purvis; 18 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the ladies who helped make it possible for Bernie to stay in her home for the last two years: Mary Swift, Chris Howard, Nancy Casey, Cindy Redolfi, Anita Smith, Lucy Kempton and Debbie Jones, thank you for your devotion and loving care. A special thanks also to Carolyn Ireland, her close neighbor and precious friend. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18 from 11:00AM-12:00 noon at the Kettering Assembly of God Church, 2250 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, 45429. A funeral officiated by Pastor Linda Williams will follow at 12:00 noon, also at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Park Cemetery, Beavercreek.
