Beth Jean Farris

FARRIS, Beth Jean (Berglund), 82 died peacefully at Heartland of Centerville, Wednesday morning, August 30, 2006 in the loving presence of family and friends. She was born in Flandreau, South Dakota, the only daughter of the late Arthur G. and Georgia (Howard) Berglund. She is survived by her husband Harold; son Ray and fiancée Cathy Aherns, Toledo, Ohio; son Mark and wife Cindy, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; daughter Lori and husband Michael Eby, Battle Ground, Washington; five grandchildren Jason Farris, Key West, Florida; Jennifer Farris, Akron, Ohio; Melissa Eby Doyle, Winlock, Washington; Joshua Eby, University of Portland (Oregon) and Grant Eby, Central Washington University; two great-grandsons, Conner and Caden Doyle; two brothers-Rev. Howard Berglund and wife Edythe, Lindsborg, Kansas and Kenneth Berglund and wife Rose Ann, Rapid City, South Dakota and numerous nieces and nephews. Beth was a loving wife, a wonderful mom, and a respected teacher at Wayne High School, Huber Heights, Ohio (1961-1968), and Fairmont East High School, Kettering, Ohio, from 1968 until her retirement in 1982. A memorial service will be held at Normandy United Methodist Church at 11:00 am Saturday, September 2, 2006 with Pastor Tom Harry officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Normandy United Methodist Church, 450 West Alex-Bell Road, Centerville, Ohio 45459; Sioux Falls College, Sioux Falls, South Dakota 57105-1699; or the Miami Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, 3797 Summit Glen Drive, Dayton, Ohio 45449.
