HAMLIN, Betty, age 47, died on December 13, 2005 after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer at her home in Galena, OH. She was born on August 8, 1958 to Edwin and Evelyn Elkin in Centerville, OH. She was preceded in death by her father. She leaves to mourn her passing, her mother, Evelyn Elkin of Centerville, OH, her husband, Mahlon, daughters, Amy (Jayson) Cluelow of Atlanta, GA, Kelly Westmoreland, of the home, step-daughters, Amy (Matthew) Morgan of Atlanta, GA and Sheri (Richard) Phillips of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren, Hunter and John Cluelow, Hayley and Hayden Morgan, Shaw and Abby Phillips and many loving friends. Betty graduated from Centerville High School in 1976 as an outstanding track and field athlete. She graduated with a BBA from Georgia State University in 1992. Betty married her husband, Mahlon in November of 1993. Before moving back to OH, Betty worked for Kik Georgia, Siemens, and Georgia-Pacific. Betty was active in several organizations. She was APICS certified, a member of the James Cancer Center Brain Tumor Support Group, member of the online Brain Tumor Support group Caringbridge.org, contributing author of the online CILOA, a Christian Support Group. Betty and Mahlon joined Lewis Center United Methodist Church on April 13, 2003, where she was a loyal and dedicated choir member. The internment will be at Miami Valley Memory Gardens with a private graveside service. A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Lewis Center United Methodist Church. The church will receive family and guests beginning at 9:00 AM.
