FANGER, Betty E. (nee Weiss), age 92, of Centerville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 21, 2018.
Betty was born on July 6, 1926, to Arthur and Helen (Steltzriede) Weiss, in Saginaw, MI.
She was very proud to have worked in a manufacturing plant, following her HS graduation, during the WWII war effort. Following the war, Betty met the love of her life, Donald Fanger, and was married in 1948, on Valentines Day. They moved to the Dayton area in 1965 and became active members of the Centerville Community. Betty was a longtime parishioner of Concordia Lutheran Church, where she helped in the Library, VBS, and Sunday school. She was an avid gardener and reader, but most of all, she loved being with her family.
Betty is preceded in death by her son, Terry Fanger. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Don; daughters Kay (Rich) Hoeferkamp and Joy (Denver) Hoskins; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Janet Fanger; and numerous extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 5-7pm, on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, 45429. A service will be held the following day at 11am, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 250 Peach Orchard Ave, Oakwood 45419, with a viewing held an hour prior. Burial at Davids Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ohios Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45420.
