Centerville

FRANKENFELD, Beverly, age 91, of Centerville, OH, passed peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 6, 1934, in Decatur, IL, to the late Harold and Nellie Zimmerlin. At a young age her family relocated to the Dayton area where she graduated from Wilbur Wright High School. Following Beverly’s high school education, she attended The Ohio State University where she studied Fine Arts. After her time at OSU she married her high school sweetheart, Lee Frankenfeld, in January 1954, before returning to the Dayton area. For many years she took joy as a homemaker while raising their six children. She was employed at Wright Patt Air Force Base and DESC as an administrative assistant for fifteen years, where she received many honors.

Throughout her life Beverly was known as a talented artist and enjoyed drawing caricatures of her family and painting a variety of watercolor and oil pieces. She was blessed with a beautiful voice and lent her abilities to her High School and church’s choirs. She loved writing poetry and stories and several were published in the Dayton Daily News and Wright Flyer. She also enjoyed attending cultural arts functions and playing tennis and golf. Beverly and Lee are longtime members of Epiphany Lutheran Church, where she taught Bible School during the summer. Faith was always important to her and she was proud to raise her family with Christian values. Her greatest joy was spending quality time with her family. She relished family vacations, Sunday drives after church, and attending her children’s and grandchildren’s school and extracurricular events. Beverly’s faithful and kind spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
