Smith, Brodus, age 80 died Thursday, November 29th. Brodus was born in Essie, Kentucky on June 17, 1938 the youngest child of James and Myrtle Smith. He is preceded in death by his son Randy, his parents, four brothers and four sisters. Survivors include wife Mary of Spring Valley; daughters and sons-in-laws Amy and Glenn Goetz of Miamisburg; and Leslie and Osmond Iyde of Manassas, VA; five grandchildren: Jacob Adam and Christopher Randall Goetz, Cassandra Lynn and Amanda Renee Smith; and Nicholas Tanrikut Iyde. He is also survived by sisters Onia Jordon and Wilma Taylor both of Florida and numerous nieces and nephews. Brodus was retired from Duriron Company after 33 years having previously worked for McCauley Corporation, Dayton Soft Water Company, Lofino’s Food Stores, and A&P Markets. He was an avid sportsman, a long-time member of Good Sam’s Meadowlark Camping Club, a charter member of Stivers Alumni Association, and a devoted volunteer for the American Youth Foundation.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, December 6th at Hope Church, 5980 Wilmington Pike at the I-675 intersection. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to service. Burial will be at the Bellbrook Cemetery immediately following the service.
