BURNS, Buddy Ray, age 82, of Huber Heights, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Glenna Piersall Burns. Buddy served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Thompson during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1954. He retired from the Pepsi-Cola Company in 1997 after 33 years. Buddy was a member of the Bethel Christian Church, where he served in various capacities. How do you distill the life of a legendary man into a few words? Buddy loved his wife, his children, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He dedicated himself to being a Christ-like example for his family to follow.
Buddy loved sports. He followed the Reds, Bengals, and Buckeyes. He was an avid bowler and even though a perfect 300 eluded him, he did roll a 299.

He is survived by his wife Glenna; son Steven R. Burns and his wife Robin; son Kevin J. Burns and his wife Sheri; daughter Debby D. Burns Poole and her husband Don; daughter Melissa M. Burns Arnold and her husband Ken; 3 granddaughters; Angie Burns Pruitt, Laura Burns Gross, and Danielle Poole Watson; 9 grandsons; Aaron, Nathan and Jonathan Burns, Brian Burns, Zack, Nick, and Jake Arnold, and Dustin and Drew Poole; also 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
