age 96, of Trinity Community, died Thursday, December 21, 2000. He taught school at Pasadena grade school in Beavertown before going to the Army in 1940. During WW II, he served as a First Lieutenant in the Coast Artillery and later , in Japan. After leaving the Army, he received his Masters in School Administration from the University of California, Berkeley Campus. Roy and his wife settled in the hills overlooking San Francisco Bay and he took a position with the University of California, Berkeley Campus retiring after 21 years as Senior Planning Analysts. He and his wife loved to play bridge. They loved golf and were both good golfers who prided their membership in the Mira Vista Golf Club. He had a great sense of humor, as well as an excellent bass voice, and over the course of many years, sang in choirs in Dayton and the Arlington Community Church in Kensington. He married Fannie Bell Ryne in 1928 and together, they traveled all over the world until her illness in 1983, when they moved back to Dayton. Fannie Bell died in 1993. Roy was a member of David's UCC, Dayton Lodge, Scottish Rite, and the Shrine. He is survived by 4 nieces, Carol Clinger, Anne McCutcheon, Charlotte McKnight, Olive Brubaker, and a nephew, Thomas H. Routsong, as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 26th at Trinity Community, 3218 Indian Ripple Rd, with burial at Beavertown Cemetery. Friends may call at Trinity one hour before services. If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to the Children's Hospital, One Children's Plaza, Dayton, Ohio 45404; or the Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45229.
