Carl Gross

GROSS, Carl, age 94, of Miami Township, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012 in Pensacola, FL. Carl served as a ground forces technician in the United States Army during WWII. He then enjoyed a long career in real estate. Carl began working for George P. Huffman Co. in the early 50's. He retired after 30 years from his own company, Carl Gross Realty. To stay active and involved in his community, he worked for the deli department at Kroger on Shroyer Rd. then transferred to the Springboro location where he remained for the next 15 years. Carl was a motivating, optimistic man with an "infectious" laugh. He enjoyed spending time with family, working outside and listening to his record collection. Preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lucille Gross, who passed in 2000; brothers, Andrew Gross and Ollie James Gross and sisters, Elizabeth and Elsie. Carl is survived by his daughters, Beverly M. Pummill of Gulf Breeze, FL, Mary Katherine Lowe of Indianapolis, IN, Carla E. (Dale) Steinbach of Gulf Breeze, FL, and Linda L. (Fred) Perkins of Centerville, OH; 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
