Carl Spaulding

SPAULDING, Carl M. age 79, of Ridgecrest CA, died Thursday, January 5, 2006 from Alzheimer's related pneumonia. In addition to has parents, Dr Kenneth and Minnie Kate Spaulding, he is preceded in death by sons, Matthew and Tyler Spaulding. Surviving are his devoted wife of 33 years, Judy Fair-Spaulding, daughter, Judy (Charley) Schuerholz of Kettering, grandson, Cris Hagen, son, Charles Spaulding and his 4 children. Carl was a very caring father and husband who stayed close to his family and friends through the years. He served in the US Navy and later graduated with honors from West Liberty State College. He began his career at NSA in Washington, D.C. and then relocated to Kettering, OH to work at NCR in micrographics and automation. He later moved back to Washington D.C. to work for the Council on Library Resourses. In retirement, he served on the board of the Sunnyvale, CA Public Library and the Citizens Advisory Commission to the Police Department of Colorado Springs, CO. He had just recently moved to Ridgecrest, CA. Carl was an accomplished wordsmith and mathematician. He enjoyed hiking, camping, and daily walks with his little doggies, who brought much joy to his life. He was also an avid collector of vintage radios, toasters and publications. Family and friends will forever miss his sincerity, quick wit, and engaging stories. Interment will be at David Cemetery. Arrangements by Routsong Funeral Home.
