Carol Ann Farr

September 26, 1946 — February 6, 2023

FARR, Carol Ann, age 76, of Centerville OH, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, at home. Carol was born in Havre, MT on September 26th 1946. She was the daughter of John and Dorothy (Cady) McCormick. Carol attended school in Kremlin, MT, graduating from High School in 1964. After graduation, she chose to pursue a nursing degree at the Northern Montana College. She also attended Montana State University at Bozeman. Her curious nature led her to living next to the beach in California for a while before returning to Montana and working as a caregiver at Northern Montana College Hospital West.

While living and working in Havre MT, Carol met her future husband David at the local bowling alley. On July 10th 1970 she married David Farr. Soon after they moved to upstate New York where David finished schooling and began a long career with NCR and Carol worked part-time at her sister-in-law’s candy shop. David’s career with NCR led them on a journey living in New York, North Carolina, New Jersey and finally settling for the last 30 years in Centerville, OH. The first 20 of those years she spent working at DeClark’s Hallmark store at Town & Country Shopping Center where she was loved by many customers who frequently returned just to see her. There she acquired her love for angel figurines, Hallmark ornaments and Dept. 56 Dicken’s Village Christmas Houses.

Carol has always been first and foremost a caring wife, mother, and grandma. Carol was a Christian with a strong Faith. She was often selfless and loved helping others from the kindness of her heart. Carol enjoyed teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years at her local Lutheran Church. Her hobbies and projects included building a church library, creating slide shows with David, sewing, crafting, gardening, and yardwork. Carol was an avid reader and created quite a large library of books at home. Carol loved baking, especially making her Mom’s recipes for Cinnamon Rolls, Chocolate Chip Cookies and Breads. These delights were shared and loved by all throughout the year and at family holiday get togethers.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Harriet Cady McCormick and granddaughter, Rose Cady Harkins. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, David; children, Jennifer Harkins, Kevin (Viktoria) Farr, Eric (Ester) Farr; grandchildren, Chance, Noah, Ian, Liam, and Phoenix; sisters, Trudy (Jake) Meyer, Lue (Al) Waite; brother, Neal (Lylas) McCormick; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
