Carol E. Accrocco

ACCROCCO, Carol E., age 92, of Kettering, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. She was born on March 20, 1924 in Rochester, N.Y. to the late Dr. George L. and Helen E. (nee Schwenzer) Cutton. Carol was a government employee at the General Accounting Office in Washington, DC, during WWll where a highlight of her secretarial job involved typing up President Franklin D. Roosevelt's salary memorandum. She is a 1943 graduate of Mildred Elley Business School in Albany, N.Y. Carol was a member of the Eastern Star Harvest Chapter # 564, the Hithergreen Pilots' Club, and Fairmont Presbyterian Church. While at her church she participated in Vital Signs, a group that performed Indian sign language to music at nursing homes and schools. In addition, she was an avid bowler, a humorist and a friendly "light" to many citizens in her community. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, Joseph F. Accrocco; son, James Robert Accrocco; brother, Gilbert Cutton; sisters, Margery MacPhee and Doris Clements. She is survived by her daughter, Anne (Michael) Mount; sons Dan (Cecilia) and John (Fran Johnson) Accrocco; grandchildren, Lindsay Mayer, Ashley (Jeff) Levering, Tony (Jill), J.J., Britney and Joey Accrocco; and three great grandsons, Emerson Hilby, Brock Levering and David Accrocco. Family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Fairmont Presbyterian Church, 3705 Far Hills Ave., Kettering. Burial will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. The family would like to thank the crisis nurse staff of Hospice of Dayton and Fran Johnson for the excellent care of Carol. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229.
