Carol Fox Creager

age 70 years passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at Hospice of Dayton after a lengthy illness. Carol was born in Columbus, Ohio, May 9, 1931. Preceded in death by her parents, Jeannette and R. C. Fox. She graduated from Clyde, Ohio High School, attended Muskingham College and graduated from Bowling Green State University where she earned her B.S. degree in Speech pathology. Carol began her career in Dayton at Barney Convalescent Hospital (Children's Medical Center), in 1953 and continued in the Speech Pathology profession at the Hearing and Speech Center of Montgomery County and United Rehabilitation Services Center until her retirement in 1998. Carol's specialty was working with individuals who stutter. She was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, The Junior League of Dayton, The Dayton Country Club, and St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Oakwood. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Thomas Creager (Blitz), a son Thomas Jr. (Tim) and his wife Louise of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, a daughter Paula Powers and her husband Timothy of Kettering, Ohio and two grandsons, Grant and Nathan Powers. Memorial Services, 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 8, 2001, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 33 W. Dixon Ave., Oakwood with the Rev. John F. Koepke III (Jack) officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, Inc., P.O. Box 3509, Dayton, Ohio 45402-3509 or to The Carol Fox Creager Fund, c/o The Dayton Foundation, 2100 Kettering Tower, Dayton, Ohio 45423. The income from this fund is distributed each year to the United Rehabilitation Services Speech Pathology Department. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Mark Romer and his staff along with the staff at Hospice of Dayton for Carol's wonderful care.
