Carole M. Simpson

December 23, 1924 — November 20, 2012

SIMPSON, Carole, passed away November 20, 2012 at age 88. She was the beloved sister of Roberta Hawkins Wentworth of Troy, Michigan. Her niece Jacqueline Hawkins Renshaw (Lew) and nephews, John (Cheryl) Hawkins and Paul Hawkins, will miss her terribly. She is also survived by several grand and great grand nieces and nephews as well as her lifelong friend, Evelyn Lewis of Kettering. Carole graduated from Oakwood High School and University of Dayton. She taught at Cleveland School and retired in 1982. After retirement, she and Evelyn directed the award winning, Children's Traveling Opera. She was a board member of The Dayton Opera Guild. Carole and Evelyn loved to travel. They made many trips through Europe, Scandinavia, USSR, Asia, and the Middle East. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at David's Cemetery Chapel, beginning at 2:30pm.
