CARTER, Caroline A. age 7, of Kettering, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2007 in her mother’s arms after a lengthy battle with cancer. Caroline would have been a 2nd grader at St. Albert the Great Elementary this year. She was involved in Brownies and loved to play tennis and swim. Caroline also loved to work with clay and take art classes at Rosewood Art Center, but her favorite thing to do was ride a wave runner at Indian Lake. She was preceded in death by her infant cousin, Gabriella Colonna. Caroline is survived by her parents; Ed and Karen (Colonna) Carter, her little sister; Lyndsey, grandparents; Denny and Linda Carter and Frank and Dottie Colonna; great-grandmother, Erma Carter; uncles and their wives; Ben and Brenda Carter, Andy Carter (who is also Caroline’s Godfather), Tony Colonna, Steve and Sharon Colonna and Frank and Leanne Colonna; cousins, Annie and Maggie Carter and Mike, Steve, Kelly and Shannon Colonna; and Caroline’s Godmother, Libby Mallitz. Caroline’s family will have a private visitation, but there will be a public Mass Of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 12noon at St. Albert The Great Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering with Father James Manning and Father Tom Meyer officiating. The burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery immediately following the Mass. There will be a public celebration of Caroline’s life at a later date, please check her website at www.carolineacarter.com for further details. Caroline didn’t mind visiting the hospital during her battle with cancer because it had a Child Life Center that allows children to play and feel normal during their hospital stays. As a tribute to Caroline, memorial contributions may be made to the Caroline Carter Child Life Fund, c/o The Dayton Foundation, 2300 Kettering Tower, Dayton, OH 45423. Your contributions will help hospitals build a Child Life Center or enhance existing ones. To honor Caroline’s love of all beautiful colors, please wear something bright and happy to her Mass.
