Carolyn Lee Farrell

FARRELL, Carolyn L. "nee Hendricks", age 62, of Spring Valley Township, Greene County, OH passed away on March 7, 2012 after a three year struggle with brain cancer. Carolyn was born in Dayton, OH to Ralph and Virginia Hendricks and grew up in the Dayton area before moving to Xenia in 1982. She had a wide ranging thirty year career as a registered nurse, including a tour in Southeast Asia as an Air Force Nurse, stints at Greene Memorial Hospital, The Greene County Board of Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Health Services, and positions in Maternity and Home Health Care. Carolyn left nursing for a promotion to "stay-at-home-Mom". She was a woman of firm but private faith in God. She was preceded in death by her parents. Carolyn is survived by her husband of almost 30 years, Christopher Farrell; a son, Robert; step-daughter, Shelby (Matt) Novitske; grandchildren, Peyton and Daxton; a sister, Christine (Mike) Leyshon; brother, Lee (Sue) Hendricks; nephews, Mike (Jeannine) and Scott (Chrissie) Leyshon and Brian Hendricks; nieces, Amy (John) Ferguson and Hannah Hendricks, grandnephews, James Leyshon and Cameron Ferguson; and grandnieces, Sarah Leyshon and Amanda Ferguson. Family will greet friends from 12:00-1:30pm on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:30 also at the funeral home. Burial in David's Cemetery.
