Caryl Jean Ross

ROSS, Caryl Jean, age 89, of Kettering, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017. Caryl was born on December 5, 1927 in Vandalia to Alfred and Mary Craver. Caryl graduated from Wilbur Wright High School and was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church where she proudly sang in the choir. She was also a member of Sweet Adeline's of Dayton and Kettering where she sang with her sisters, Virginia and Janet. Caryl volunteered at Kettering Safety Kids Program for 15 years, and was a past member of Miami Valley Sewing Guild. For years she delighted nursing home audiences with her group called Klach & Klatter Kitchen Band. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Franklin and her 3 sisters; Virginia, Deloris, and Janet. Caryl is survived by her children; Michael (Sandy) Ross, Deborah (Emmet) Roth, Alicia (Pepe) Hasty, Cynthia (Jeff) Whittridge, Michele Ross, Franklin Ross Jr., numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at St. Charles Borromeo, 4500 Ackerman Blvd, Kettering. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial in Poplar Hill Cemetery.
