Catherine Vilas Davidson

DAVIDSON, Catherine Vilas, (“Cocky”) age 84, of Oakwood died February 28 at the Suites at Walnut Creek. Born April 15, 1920 in Cleveland to the late Helen Bradley Vilas and Malcolm Burt Vilas, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Davidson Sr., her sisters: Anne Pease, Helen Ginn, and Mary Elizabeth (Sunny) Myers, and her brother, Malcolm (Frat) B. Vilas Jr. She is survived by her sister, Eleanor V. Kuss of Medina, OH, as well as her sons: Robert L. Davidson Jr. (JoAnn) of Dayton and Roger V. (Barbara) Davidson of Boulder, CO and her daughters: Anne D. (Ronald) Gerrish of Dixfield, ME and Susan D. (Jeffrey) Meyer of Issaquah, WA. She has thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Cocky graduated from Hathaway Brown School in Cleveland and Bennett Jr. College in Millbrook, NY. She was a member of the Junior League of Dayton, Moraine Country Club and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where she served on the Altar Guild and Meals on Wheels Program. She was a volunteer for 50 years at the Little Exchange in Oakwood. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 5th at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Melody Williams officiating. Her family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful services performed by Hospice of Dayton and the loving staff at the Suites at Walnut Creek. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Robert L. Davidson Scholarship Fund, c/o Oakwood High School Education Foundation, P.O.
